Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker will be launching the all-new Altroz premium hatchback today in India. Apart from Altroz, the car maker will also be launching the facelifted versions of Tata Nexon, Tiago & Tigor in India at the launch event. The upcoming Altroz hatchback recently bagged five-star safety ratings in Global NCAP tests. To be based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture, Tata Altroz will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options.  The Altroz will be Tata's first product for the year 2020. The launch event of Tata Altroz premium hatchback is scheduled to commence at 12 pm IST onwards. The car maker will also be broadcasting the event straight from the venue on its official YouTube channel as well as social media handles. The launch event of Tata Altroz will also serve as a platform for the updated versions of Tiago, Tigor and Nexon.

The main underlines of Tata Altroz will be sporty grille upfront, dual-chamber projector headlamps, LED DRLs, split tail lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, cruise control and much more. For safety, the hatchback will come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, CSC, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and more. The new offering from Tata will be offered in five variants - XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ(O). The upcoming Altroz hatchback will be seen in five exciting shades - High-Street Gold, Skyline Silver, Downtown Red, Midtown Grey and Avenue White.

As far as the mechanical front is concerned, the Altroz will be available with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron motor that is capable of generating 86PS and 113Nm of power figures. On the other hand, the diesel unit will be a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, Turbocharged Revotorq mill that will make 90 PS of maximum power against and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The automatic option will be offered on the later stage.

When launched, Tata's premium offering will take on Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza and Volkswagen Polo. As far as the prices are concerned, the Tata Altroz is likely to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
