Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl hit the theatres on September 13. It clashed with Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha’s courtroom drama Section 375. Although both the films received positive reviews from fans and critics (based on their respective genres), it was Dream Girl that shined in terms of box office collections. In fact, in these six days it has also managed to reach closer to Rs 70 crore club. Dream Girl Box Office Collection Day 5: Ayushmann Khurrana Starrer Mints Rs 7.40 Crore on Tuesday.

On the opening day Dream Girl earned Rs 10.05 crore; it beat the records of other mid-range films that released this year. On September 18 it collected Rs 6.75 crore, which was comparatively lesser than its previous day. However, it is still managing to hold strong at the ticket windows despite other big releases. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#DreamGirl is a money spinner... Excellent trending on weekdays... Eyes ₹ 72 cr [+/-] in Week 1... Fri 10.05 cr, Sat 16.42 cr, Sun 18.10 cr, Mon 7.43 cr, Tue 7.40 cr, Wed 6.75 cr. Total: ₹ 66.15 cr. #India biz.”

Talking about doing comedy roles even in the past Ayushmann Khurrana told Khaleej Times, “Every actor has a comfort zone. Mine is quirky, slice-of-life, taboo-breaking cinema.
