Alok Nath's name cropped up when #MeToo movement started gaining momentum. The veteran Bollywood actor was accused of rape and sexual misconduct. And now The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association aka (CINTAA) has released a statement to notify that Alok Nath has been expelled from the association.

Nath  accused of rape and harassment by director and producer Vinta Nanda. Post Tanushree Dutta came out about her harassment story at the hands of Nana Patekar, Nanda came out with her story after a long wait of two decades to reveal the true face of the Sanskari actor. She accused Alok Nath of rape and constant sexual harassment under intoxication. Many other women co-stars shared their stories of misconduct by Nath after Vinta Nanda’s story came out. Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan and Renuka Shahne who worked with Nath in the blockbuster movie Hum Aapke Hain Kaun also talked about Alok Nath's drinking habits and how he would turn into an unbalanced individual.

Earlier CINTAA had called for a meeting with the accused and the accuser. In this meeting many reported were to be scrutinized and be taken into account.  Alok Nath decided to skip this meeting and he remained absent from any confrontation. CINTAA then released a statement expelling Alok Nath from the association. It remains to be seen if this really impacts Nath's career even if some voices maintain that this move will finish his association with good projects and artists!
