Lionel Messi is back in his favorite colours and continues to break and create records playing for Barcelona. The prolific forward and captain of the Barcelona team, Messi has become the first player to reach 150 assists in La Liga history as Barcelona beat Huesca 8-2. Both Messi and Luis Suarez scored two goals each and Barcelona became the only team after Real Madrid to win each of their opening three games.

Huesca, the new comers in the La Liga, faced an onslaught by Messi led Barcelona who were at their attacking best right from the start. Messi, playing at his destructive best, not only earned praise for his brace, but also for letting go of a chance to score a hattrick when he gave the ball to Suarez to take the penalty.

Surprisingly, it was Huesca which took a lead when Cucho Hernandez scored in the third minute. But it wasn't long before Messi scored the first goal for Barcelona that opened the flood gates of goals.

“We were sleeping at the start of the game but their goal helped wake us up and we reacted well,” Suarez is reported to have said after the match. Interestingly, Barca had scored eight goals against Huesca when both the teams last met at the Nou Camp in the Copa del Rey. Barcalona had won the match 8-1.
